Wellington MAP

Gathering in Welllington, NZ, (Jun 09-11) Marist leaders of the Pacific rim met to take strategies of 'MAP' a step further.

MAP (Marist Asia-Pacific) brings together representatives of the Australia, New Zealand and Oceania Marist provinces with the Marist Mission District of the Philippines.

After reports from the various regions the June meeting examined ways of collaborating in initial formation, support of young Marists and a common vocations project.

Sisters' Assembly & jubilees

Marist Sisters from the sector of Australia gathered at the Colin Library on Jun 06 for an annual assembly.

Villa Maria parish priest, Fr Kevin Bates SM, led the Sisters in a series of reflections on their life and ministry.

The following day Fr Bob Barber SM presided at a celebratory Eucharist at Woolwich honouring Sisters marking jubilees of religious profession.

 

Jubilarians, Srs Teresia Raione (Fiji, 25 yrs professed), Philomena Hall (60 yrs), Kathleen Daly (60 yrs), Margaret Purcell (60 yrs) and Marie Berise Nash (50 yrs). Other Sisters celebrating jubilees this year are Srs Martha (60 yrs), Laurentia (70 yrs) and Muriel (70 yrs).

Montbel progress

Good progress continues on the construction of the Marist retirement facility, 'Montbel', at Hunters HIll, NSW.
